Hello all editors and users of the Astroneer Wiki! We are in the process of updating and switching over to use the new Fandom Desktop skin on the wiki. There will be many changes over the coming days, but the main goal is to keep the wiki feeling the same, as much as we can! This guide describes a single-trip / single-flight loadout when travelling to a new planet using the Small Shuttle, optionally carrying one Medium Storage. Using only materials on Sylva which can be carried on the Backpack and Terrain Tool, it bootstraps: a Soil Centrifuge, an Oxygenator, and a Landing Pad with a Beacon for return trips. The Medium Storage module allows players to carry additional materials or tools. Players with access to Tungsten, Iron, and a spare EXO Chip, can bootstrap every available crafting Module.

Basic Construction[]

All materials can be found on Sylva.

Soil Centrifuge[]

  1. Carry the shuttle to the new base location; close enough to provide oxygen.
  2. Unpack all equipment.
  3. Place the Medium Printer on the Medium T-Platform.
  4. Power the Medium T-Platform using Medium Solar Panel by day and Medium Wind Turbine by night.
  5. Print 1x Large Platform B on the Medium Printer: 3x Resin.
  6. Place the Medium Storage from the shuttle and the energy source on the Large Platform B.
  7. Print 1x Soil Centrifuge on the Medium Printer: 1x Aluminum, 2x Compound.
  8. Place the Soil Centrifuge on the Large Platform B.

Improve Soil Gathering[]

  1. Extract some Resin from the Soil Centrifuge.
  2. Print some extra Canisters on the Backpack Printer: 1x Resin, each.

Platforms[]

From this point onward, the specified Platform recipes are recommended. Any Platform large enough to hold the modules is sufficient, provided it can be crafted from materials sourced from the Soil Centrifuge.

Oxygenator[]

  1. Print 1x Small Printer on the Backpack Printer: 1x Compound.
  2. Print 1x Large Platform B on the Medium Printer: 3x Resin.
  3. Print 1x Smelting Furnace on the Medium Printer: 2x Compound, 1x Resin.
  4. Refine 1x Ceramic on the Smelting Furnace: 1x Clay.
  5. Print 1x Oxygenator on the Small Printer: 1x Aluminum, 1x Ceramic.

Landing Pad[]

  1. Print 1x Large Printer on the Medium Printer: 3x Compound.
  2. Refine 2x Ceramic on the Smelting Furnace: 2x Clay.
  3. Print 1x Landing Pad on the Large Printer: 2x Ceramic, 1x Aluminum.
  4. Print 1x Beacon on the Backpack Printer: 1x Quartz.

Advanced Construction[]

Advanced construction involves materials not found on Sylva. The first advanced material to bring is 1x Tungston to create the Chemistry Lab and Medium Resource Canisters. The remaining advanced materials bootstrap the Trade Platform and Shredder.

Medium Resource Canisters[]

  1. Refine at least 2x Glass on the Smelting Furnace: 2x Quartz.
  2. Print 1x Chemistry Lab on the Medium Printer: 1x Ceramic, 1x Tungsten, 1x Glass.
  3. Refine at least 1x Carbon Smelting Furnace: 1x Organic.
  4. Create at least 1x Plastic at the Chemistry Lab: 1x Carbon, 1x Compound.
  5. Print Medium Resource Canisters on the Small Printer: 1x Plastic, 1x Glass, each.

Trade Platform and Shredder[]

  1. Print 1x Large Platform B on the Medium Printer: 3x Resin.
  2. Print either:
    1. 1x Medium Shredder on the Small Printer: 2x Iron.
    2. 1x Large Shredder on the Medium Printer: 1x Iron, 1x Tungsten Carbide, 1x EXO Chip.
  3. Print 1x Trade Platform on the Medium Printer: 1x Iron, 1x Tungsten, 1x EXO Chip, 1x Compound.

Creating Scrap from Soil[]

  1. Convert Soil into Clay in the Soil Centrifuge.
  2. Refine Clay into Ceramic in the Smelting Furnace.
  3. Print Drill Mod 1 from Ceramic in the Backpack Printer.
  4. Convert Drill Mod 1 into Scrap in any Shredder.

Atmospheric Condenser[]

  1. Refine 2x Iron in the Smelting Furnace: 2x Hematite.
  2. Refine 1x Carbon in the Smelting Furnace: 1x Organic.
  3. Print 1x Large Platform B on the Medium Printer: 3x Resin.
  4. Create 1x Plastic in the Chemistry Lab: 1x Carbon, 1x Compound.
  5. Refine 1x Glass in the Smelting Furnace: 1x Quartz.
  6. Print 1x Atmospheric Condenser on the Medium Printer: 1x Plastic, 1x Glass, 1x Iron.
