Novus is a Planet in Astroneer. It is the moon of the Exotic planet Vesania.
It's perhaps one of the most distinct Planets in Astroneer, with its thin foggy atmosphere and purple, sparsely forested and cratered Terrain. The surface of the moon is pockmarked with craters, much like Desolo, the other terrestrial moon. It has plenty of flora on its surface such as Popcoral, Lashleaf, Cataplant, and Thistlewhip.
Many permanently active geysers can be found on the surface of Novus.
The day/night cycle on Novus is very fast, being 3 and a half minutes long.

SPOILER WARNING
Information below contains information that may ruin your enjoyment of discovering the game's secrets for yourself. Proceed at your own risk. |
Novus has two Gateway Chambers, each requiring 21U/s of power for 30 seconds to be activated. Three Medium Generators on a Large Platform B is the easiest way to achieve this. At least one must be activated before the player can access the Gateway Engine in the core of the planet.
Once a Gateway Chamber has been activated, the Gateway Engine opens in the core. Placing a single Silicone in one of the slots reveals the Geometric Triptych. Placing the Geometric Triptych in the slot on the opposite side (above you) will activate the engine, revealing the Odd Stone and allowing teleportation to the core as well as revealing the inactive node for the Gateway Portal if it has not yet been discovered.
Trivia[]
- A planet similar to Novus was used in the Terrain 2.0 test during Patch 0.10.5.
