Rovers are vehicles used in Astroneer that allow players to travel across the planets surfaces. Rovers can be charged by a base platform. Rovers can also power a base. The power flow between a rover and a base is directional when connecting.

There are five types of rovers currently available:

- Rovers, except the Buggy, can be connected in trains of up to four rovers. Tractors can carry trailers, but not a large
Rover. Each large rover has a battery. This is not the case with trailers.
